AQWA
To the AQWA !. Yes, last Tuesday, we took the children to AQWA..Aquarium of Western Australia. We decided to go on Tuesday to avoid large crowds and traffic jammed. Well how wrong we were. There were huge crowds lining to get tickets inside. With little bit of patience we managed to get inside. There were varieties of fish, turtle, sharks, stingrays, sealions..etc. I think the best part was when we entered undersea world..shipwreck coast. Those angry sharks were swimming over our heads. However, I have been to the better seaworld than this...
Caversham Wildlife Park
During the first week of school holiday, we took the children to the Caversham Park. It was quite a pleasant experience. It was our first encounter with Aussie animals such as Kangaroo, Koala, Wombat and host of other species that we never saw before. The outing was ended with a refreshing picnic nearby the park.

Story Telling Session at Mirrabooka Library
Today I brought the kids to the Mirrabooka library. They have some books to be returned. While in the library, surprisingly they organized a story telling session for the children. No wonder many children were around. Guess what..Alia had become a guest star during the session. Unbelievable. Alia and Amal were quite reluctance at first, but after much persuasion they relented and listen attentively to the story teller. A very pleaseant experience. Guess what..Santa was presented too.

Summer Oh Summer
Summer is here ! Get ready to get hot and sweat. Over here summer is damn hot. The temperature can easily reached 40 degrees. Imagine like Arafah!. However after much pleading and pestering from Alia, I decided to buy a plastic pool for them to get soaked! Amal had been acting like a champion swimmer...Alia as her usual self..like a hungry crocodile.

Strawberries Pickings at Wanneroo
Salam,
Over the weekend, we went to Elliot Rd, Wanneroo for fruit picking activity, strawberry that is. The farm called Hai's strawberry is owned by a charming Vietnamese Aussie. He was is Pulau Bidong before, before Aussie government took him away to WA. Anyway, the farm is abundance of sweet red strawberries ready to go into your belly. Wash the first ! You can pick as many as you can, and will be charged approx AUD20 per 10 kilos. I was very interesting and enjoying picking the fruits. We managed to get approx 10 kilos. I don't know whether we can finish the or not. They can easily get rotten.
Anyway, we able to make couple of jams, strawberry chocolate, strawberry shakes and even desert. Still have some more. Maybe they will end up in a rubbish bin!

Open House Oh Open House
Today, we were invited to Kak Pah and Abg Razak open house at Carlise, south of the river. Before we went there, we dropped by Nadia's place at Broadway, just to see how she getting through. Of course we brought all her stuffs back to her.
The children were enjoying themselves today. Why ? each of them got a new (well actually used) bicycles. We bought them at the flea market. At least they can spend their school holiday doing something new. I don't how long it would last.
Well tomorrow Reena and I will resume our Syawal's fasting after 2 day breaks. Still has 3 days to go.
Hope everybody had a good weekend.

Swan Valley and Fremantle
Salam,
Still fresh in Hari Raya mood, we decided to take the kids for a tour or rather detour to Swan Valley and Fremantle. Swan Valley is known as the wine grower's region of WA. Of course our intention not to taste the wine, but to appreciate it beautiful scenary and wonderful climate. Others attractions are abundant such as chocolate factory, strawberry farms, animal farms and of course you can visit the vineyards.
Off we went to Fremantle the next day. Fremantle is an ancient city by Aussie standard. Less than 200 years old I think. Even Aloq Setaq is pretty much older. This is a major port city of WA, although it is dwarfed by Port Klang standard. However, the authority has done a good job of maintaining the historical aspects of the town. The town is clean, well planned and wonderful. The scenary is fantastic.
We got the taste of it famous Kailis Fish and Chips restaurant near the fishing port. Don't worry its halal. No porks are served. The fish and chips are cooked with vegetable oil. Nice and tasty. The kids really enjoyed them very much. There are other surrounding attractions such as maritime museum, ship wreck museum, fremantle markets and of course it beautiful blue beach (watch out for the dogs pooh..there are aplenty).

Goodbye Ramadhan..Welcome Eidul Fitri
Assalamualaikum,
It has been 4 days since we have celebrated our Aidil Fitri. Frankly Hari Raya Celebration in Perth is quite jovial and merry. Visiting tradition is still alive, where friends and collegues came to our house to celebrate the wonderful day.
The day started with a Eidul Fitri prayer at AT Taqwa Mosque, Mirrabooka. To see large number of muslim community from all kind of backgrounds, culture and ethnic was simply moving.
Then back home to have delicious Hari Raya meals prepared by my beloved wife..with the kids of course. She spend the whole day before preparing, fine tuning all those delicious meals..rendang daging, nasi himpit, kuah kacang, london almond, cornflakes cookies, nasi minyak, ayam masak merah..etc..finger lickin good. Kudos for her..
Then the guests started to 'ambush' our home..meriah le jadinya. About 20 people came to our house and had our treat. What a wonderful day...to be continued.

Morley Flea Market
Salam,
Today we went to Morley Flea Market..(some call it car boot sales). You can find everything from electrical items to flower pots. It was a heaven for bargain hunters. Most items are cheap but you have to survey and bargain for the right products.
But I think Car Boot Sales in UK are much better.

At last...snow in Perth
Salam,
Seeing is believing. That what they said. We experienced an unexpected event today. Snow was drizzling at our backyard. Although just a few spots it was quite significant. Unfortunately they melted early. Pity Alia and Aida, they didn't had chance to see them. Well maybe another time gals.
p.s . Actually the 'snow' was taken from our ice box.

All those petrol guzzlers in Perth
I found it quite shocking that most cars here have high CC capacity. You seldom see cars less than 2000cc..well except maybe mine. Passenger cars of 4000 cc are a norm. Nevermind about 5000cc and above. In the day where fuel price is soaring..reaching US130 a barrel today, someone has start to ponder to play safe. Public transport is one alternative. My son Amal has a better idea. He told me to start using his car. Mmmm somehing to think about. Anyway selamat berbuka dan carilah nikmat LailatulQadar.
Wasalam
